What is Athletic Therapy?
Working with an Certified Athletic Therapist
Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking, in-depth knowledge and education, and training in the areas of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones & joints). We are the first to respond when someone gets hurt and we are the experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. We specialize in prevention, assessment, and treatment of all orthopedic injuries as well as concussion assessment and management.
Certified Athletic Therapists are health-care professionals who treat acute and chronic injury for a variety of patients from children to seniors, recreational and elite athletes, to the healthy active lifestyle individuals. It’s that mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating musculoskeletal injuries, whether on the field or in the clinic.
What is MASSAGE THERAPY?
Massage Therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically the muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments with the goal of optimizing your bodies health and wellness.
Massage Therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body that helps alleviate stresses, muscular over-use, and a variety of chronic pain conditions. Physical function can be maintained, developed and improved; and the use of Massage Therapy can be used as a modality for both acute and chronic conditions in a wide variety of patients in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation, and disability.
